An ordinary life, however, the royal offspring will not lead. As the seventh in the line of succession, the baby is facing a traditional procedure. Will Meghan and Harry stick to the rules? Who knows. The royal protocol would certainly provide for this process:

1. First the Queen is informed about the birth!

According to the royal protocol, the queen is always the first to know that the baby is born. She is, after all, the queen, the head of state and also the great-grandmother of the royal Winzling.

Who presumably handed her the message? Prince Harry himself! His big brother Prince William, who is now the father of two sons and a daughter, has also kept to this rule. Each time it was the Queen who first heard the joyful message. This is clearly one of the advantages of her profession ...

2. The British flag is hoisted

Once the birth is officially made, Buckingham Palace is traditionally raised with the British flag. The so-called Union Jack has been blowing for generations at the birth of every royal baby. That's how those who do not have access to radio, TV or social media channels get it.

At the same time, a gold plaque announcing the birth is placed at the door of the sculpture? and even before the spread on Facebook, Twitter & Co.!

3. The first photo of the baby!

When will the baby's first photo be seen is uncertain? because Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have announced that they will have privacy after the birth. But it could be that her baby will be wrapped in a knit blanket from Nottingham in the first photo? at least that's the ritual.

The label G.H Hurt & Son makes the baby blankets especially for the royal babies, most recently for the little Prince Louis, the third child of Prince William and Duchess Kate.

4. In a few hours Meghan leaves the hospital? probably!

No Royal stays longer in the hospital than necessary. Duchess Kate was dismissed about eight hours after the birth of her third child and was on her way home. This is not so uncommon in the UK that newly minted mothers are allowed to leave the hospital as soon as possible. Probably Meghan will be in her new home just a few hours after the delivery Frogmore Cottage drive in Windsor? accompanied, of course, by the freshly baked dad Prince Harry.

If that does not happen, it could be an indication of a Caesarean section. Then in England the mothers stay in the hospital room at least 48 hours after the birth for observation and aftercare.

It can not be completely ruled out and perhaps even probable that Harry and Meghan keep the birth of their offspring completely private and enjoy their new happiness for themselves before they initiate the public. That the newly mum with her offspring posing in front of the steps of the hospital, is doubted by many Royal experts? so you can be curious.

5. The name must be approved by the Queen!

As with all royal births, in this case the Queen will have the last word in the name choice. Although Prince Harry and Meghan may suggest their favorite names, the Queen may veto it. According to which strict rules this happens, you see below in the video.

When the name is known is still unclear. It may take a few days, but also about a month, as was the case with the birth of Prince Charles ...

6. This title gets the baby!

The title Prince or Princess will not wear any of Harry's children? they are reserved for the offspring of Prince William, the future heir to the throne.

Instead, the babies of Harry and Meghan have the right to the title Earl or. lady, But two exceptions can still occur and change the title of the baby:

  1. The Queen explicitly states that Harry's children may also be princes or princesses.
  2. Harry and Meghan decide that their children should not get a title, for example, to enable them to live a "normal" life.

Which title the baby gets is probably announced at the official naming ceremony.

7. Birth certificate will be officially published!

The birth certificate of the royal scion is officially published. It is handwritten by Papa Harry and Mama Meghan and made available to the people. Only with this gesture, the birth of the baby is highly official.

8. Baptism will follow in a few weeks!

When exactly the baptism of the baby will take place, is still unclear. But it is already clear what the child will wear on his big day! The christening gown was made in 1841 and has been worn by more than 60 royal babies.

It was made by the Scottish tailor Janet Sutherland? at that time for Queen Victoria's eldest daughter. The christening gown is made of silk satin, a coating of honiton lace, small puffy sleeves and a lavish collar and a long silk bow.

9. Meghan goes into baby break? but only until October!

So far known, Meghan will be going to baby-break by the end of October 2019. The first event that the Duchess will visit is the One Young WorldSummit, which will take place in London from 22 to 25 October.
