Madonna: Her new album "Madame X" will be released on June 14th

Now it's out: Pop Queen Madonna (60, "Like A Virgin") will release her new album "Madame X" on June 14th. This was announced by the label Universal Music. At the same time, the first single "Medellín" with reggaeton star Maluma (25, "Clandestino") will be heard from today. Fans will have to wait for the accompanying video: it will be released on April 24th.

"Madame X" is the 14th studio album of the singer and the successor to her 2015 released LP "Rebel Heart". It was created in Lisbon, where Madonna occasionally lived in recent years. There she was "inspired by her new songs," according to the Universal press release.

She celebrates her love for Latin music

Thus, Madonna celebrates on the album "her love for Latin music and Latin American culture, but also many other global influences that have shaped her in her life and in her career". This is also reflected in the texts: Madonna sings in English, Spanish and Portuguese.

"Lisbon is the place where my record was born," says Madonna. "There I found my tribe and a magical world of incredible musicians who have strengthened my belief that the music is connected to the whole world and the soul of the universe," the 60-year-old continues.

Who is "Madame X"?

A few days earlier, Madonna had already revealed in an Instagram video who it is about "Madame X." "She's a secret agent, traveling around the world, changing identities, fighting for freedom, bringing light to dark places." She is a dancer, professor, head of state, housekeeper, prisoner, student, teacher, nun, saint, whore and a "spy in the house of love".

However, it is not yet clear which song from their new album Madonna will be performing on May 18th: then Madonna will be out of competition at the final of the Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv, performing two songs - a new and an old hit. The gig is supposed to cost more than a million dollars.
