Loriot: How well do you know his sketches?
"Actually, I am Opa Hoppenstedt," Loriot told his audience last year in November, at the opening of the exhibition about his life's work - alluding to the oldest member of his favorite sketch family. "Age is right, the condition is right, the look is right." You do not have to share this view. One thing has shown Loriot's appearance: Even at 85, he is still funny. "For 85 years, I have not been able to do a job that could be called a profession," he said - and that he was accidentally not elected President of the United States. But he is with his genius-comical everyday observations something of the king of German humor.

Loriot exhibition: From Berlin, the Loriot exhibition has since migrated to the Hamburg Museum of Arts and Crafts and can still be seen there until 23 August 2009. The exhibition is dedicated to Loriot's complete works and presents paintings and drawings, photographs and sketches, stage and film props.
