Kanye West: Richter clears the way for a lawsuit against him

Now it's getting serious for Kanye West (41, "Ye"). A US judge has allowed a class action lawsuit against the rapper for alleged misleading. This is reported by several US media in unison. This clears the way for a judicial process before a jury.

A bone of contention: When West released his seventh studio album "The Life of Pablo" in February 2016, he announced via Twitter that it would "never be available at Apple" or in stores. "You only get it with Tidal," said West. As a result, many fans subscribed to the paid music streaming service by Jay-Z (48).

But just a few weeks later, the album was also available from competing vendors such as Apple Music and Spotify. Therefore, the disappointed fans filed a class action lawsuit. This can now join more fans to get a financial compensation. The judge described the counter-arguments of West as "thin" and the allegations as justified.
