James Gunn: Time after knocking out was the hardest of his life

For a long time James Gunn (52) did not look well. After the director had surfaced in the summer of 2018, old, offensive tweets, Disney had ended the collaboration with the 52-year-old. His career seemed to be in ruins. A tough time for Gunn, as he admitted in his interview with the US industry portal "Deadline". He thought his career would be over, Gunn says.

"The first day was the hardest of my life," recalls the Guardians of the Galaxy director. He has experienced other difficult times in his life, yet his expulsion hit him hard and unexpectedly. "It happened and suddenly it seemed like everything was gone," explains Gunn.



That helped him in this difficult time

What got Gunn back on his feet was the support of his colleagues, his family and his friends: "All the love I've received has been overwhelming," says Gunn. Shortly after the expulsion many stars who had worked under Gunn on the "Guardians" -Franchise, used for the director. "We fully support James Gunn," it said in an open letter from last July, signed by Saldana, Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Bradley Cooper, Pom Klementieff, Michael Rooker and Gunn's brother Sean ,

Now Gunn is back in the Disney saddle. In the middle of March it became known that he should take over the direction of "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3". The filming should begin soon, 2020, the strip will then come to the cinemas.
