Inka Bause: So she presents herself for her 50th birthday
Inka Bause is 50 years old. A round birthday that the beloved "Bauer sucht Frau" presenter celebrates in a very special way. She simply presents herself with something that is close to her heart: music. Several projects treat Bause. For one thing, on September 20, she released her album "With Open Arms" - the first in ten years. In addition, the native of Leipzig is on tour with her show "Life Songs". In it, the artist, who grew up in the GDR, takes her audience on a musical journey through her life. The highlight of this tour is her birthday concert on November 23 at the Admiralspalast in Berlin. In an interview with the news agency spot on news Bause reveals why this is a matter of the heart for her.
Especially on her 50th birthday, many people look back on their lives. Did this birthday also cause you to start your "life songs" project?
Inka Bause: Of course I look back with the songs. But if I dread anything, my daughter's exodus, for example, I like to prefer it and organize it myself. I do not postpone things, I can not stand that. I'm the youngest in my circle of friends and all the girls have turned 50 before me. It does not seem easy to a woman. So, about two years ago, I started to plan something that I am incredibly excited about. And that's the music for me.
This is my longing, which I have neglected, because "farmer looking for woman" just eats so much time and barely leaves room for something else. It annoyed me a bit because I'm an artist from the beginning and not a presenter. I just wanted to do that for myself. I know all the musicians and the entire crew. It's like a family project and I'm very happy every time I get off the stage. And that's exactly what I wanted to achieve. There's no time for me to be 50 years old.
What were the reactions to your "life songs" tour so far?
Bause: Potsdam, for example, was a success and great. I never would have thought, especially since in a big city, where no one is interested in hits and certainly not for East artists. Sure, I did not play in the Mercedes-Benz Arena, but it was very nice, because the people were all happy. The nice thing is that the stress is over, because I made myself in advance. I was worried that it would work out as planned.
With the songs, I take the people on a journey through my life. They were just as socialized in the East as I was. I also perform only in the East, which is why I see myself more as a "regional artist". It's just fun to remember together without mourning a system.
You mentioned it: "farmer looking for a wife" has gone into a new season. How long do you want or can you do this format, and why is there still so many people thrilled after all these years?
Bause: Among other things, the consignment has gained momentum due to the international farmers who participate. It is so varied and it has also become a little more comedic, without denigrating or demonstrating the people. We have been the same team for 14 years because everyone loves their work. I think that feels the audience and the farmers. I hope to be able to moderate the farmer until I am a hundred. But I do not believe it, because even the media times are changing a lot.
They have brought so many couples together through the format, including seven weddings. Do you ever want to marry again?
Bause: I did not plan that. But I know life too well to say that I never want to marry anymore. In addition, I had a wonderful wedding and a great 18 years with my husband, I have a wonderful daughter, there must be the Oberknaller-man around the corner, that I dare again. Marriages at my age, I think anyway no longer necessary. But I would be very happy. Every day I meet life and people with open arms. And if it does, then it's great because I love men and I like it when people find a soulmate. But I do not want to compromise anymore.
