In the hotel with Johnny Borrell of Razorlight

"A pair of trousers full of arrogance and insecurity"

15 minutes, no photos, no videos! This is the announcement after the meeting with Johnny Borrell has been postponed several times and even canceled. Oh dear, what a diva.

The diva turns out to be slim man in outrageously tight jeans with a careless hairstyle, a flaccid handshake and shiny eyes: Johnny Borrell (29), frontman of the band Razorlight and one of the most hated men in the pop business. He has gone astray with his former buddy Pete Doherty, with much of the British music press anyway. It comes from praising oneself and blaspheming others.

On stage, Johnny tells his songs like stories, gestures, jumps and sweats. Quite different in the interview: The singer speaks wisely, breaks off in the middle of a sentence, thinks, corrects himself - in a crystal-clear British English, which would ennoble any Listening Comprehension cassette. Earlier, he explains, he was a bunch of arrogance and insecurity, squeezed into tight jeans.

The arrogance has gone off-limits. And also the diva has disappeared - in the end, Mr. Borrell even takes 25 minutes for us. Only the tight jeans, they stayed.
