In Japan, there are fries with chocolate

It is no secret that salty and sweet match well. The McDonald's fast-food chain must have thought so too, because it introduces chips with chocolate sauce in their Japanese restaurants. The company has announced this via its official corporate channel on Twitter. "Everyone has a sweet side and a salty side and now, with McChoco Potato, you do not have to make a decision anymore", it says there for the product launch. Here: a picture of the "new" French fries with dark and white chocolate.

On the corporate side, McDonald's goes into a bit more detail: In Japan, visitors to participating restaurants get the classic fries with two sauces - chocolate with cocoa flavor and white milk chocolate. The sweet-salty fries, however, should only be available for a limited period of time.

This is not the first time that Japan has a special kind of fries: in the past, customers were served French fries with cheese sauce and bacon. The chocolate fries will be available from January 26th at participating restaurants.

In Germany an introduction is currently not planned, so the answer of McDonald's Germany on a demand of ChroniquesDuVasteMonde.
