How "Instant Life" changes the view of life

It is always worth changing the perspective. With a little luck you will see the world with different eyes. Another view of life is provided by the French photographer Florian Beaudenon. Instead of photographing people from the front, he climbed onto a ladder and photographed from above - and allows us to observe everyday situations from a perspective that we rarely take. The result is the photo series "Instant Life", which captures everyday and intimate moments.

We see a woman as she lies in the bath and relaxes with a bubble bath. Another woman sits in a chair and ties her shoes. Another sits on the sofa and reads a book. We know these scenes because we experience them again and again. But because we are the protagonists of our lives, we do not know them from this perspective.

Actually, Beaudenon photographs with both legs on the ground. The idea for "instant life" came about rather accidentally, when a shoot failed because the light in the room did not fit. "I saw a ladder, jumped on it, and shot a picture when the model had a break, and I loved the idea that we can not recognize the model but overlook the whole scene," says the photographer. That's the special thing about this camera perspective. "I can capture the whole room, like a dollhouse, and if I stood in front of people, I would not be able to show what's behind me or my counterparts," says Beaudenon. And because you do not see any faces in his pictures, they are supposed to make the viewer identify with the people in the pictures and say, 'That could be me!' Beaudenon sums up the simple message behind his pictures: 'Enjoy your life!"
