How comfortable is the jogging jeans from Diesel really?

A jogging jeans - what should that be?

The name sounds like marketing gimmick, but actually the jogging jeans is a clever textile innovation. The pants are not made of denim, but of a specially woven fabric (a cotton-polyester-elastane blend), which you can dye particularly well and pretend so a jeans wash. From the outside, they actually look like jeans, including belt loops, studs, buttons and pockets - that's what distinguishes them from jeggings, leggings in jeans.

The Jogg-Jeans was developed by the Italian label Diesel, the first was launched in 2011 - and sold well. Since then, more and more jeans labels have similar pants in the program.

I like jeans so simple and slim, so I chose a super-skinny model with a high collar in black. "They give in a bit more, take a smaller number than usual," said the nice young man in the diesel store. I've listened to him - with the result that the pants are the tightest jeans I've ever owned. It is tight all around tight, but is so long that I wear them with just under 1.75 meters in size preferably rolled.

The first stress test for the jogging jeans arrived on the weekend: a flight to Munich, with a chubby toddler on her lap. Not necessarily the kind of situation in which one likes to wear skintight jeans. But the pants are so cuddly and flexible that it does not pinch anywhere. It looks more like a leggings seat than a pair of jeans, and the inside is as soft as my coziest sweatpants.

That's why I did not take them off anymore. I sat for hours in the jogging jeans in the office in front of the computer and dived behind my daughter in the playground without feeling restricted. And the very best: Contrary to the warning, it does not end after several days, but sits like a glove.

A jogging pants can not replace the jogging jeans, right?

I do not necessarily want to do sports in it - even though I think it would work. And I admit: To watch the series on the sofa, I still preferred my sweatpants. The pants are very comfortable, but due to the tight cut and the high waistband rather jeans than Bollerbuxe.

Is not there a catch?

Yes, there is. Great fit, comfort and good looks unfortunately have their price. The tested skinny jeans model costs about 200 euros, for other jogging jeans from diesel up to 260 euros are due.
