Herbal tea for babies and toddlers will be recalled

Affected by the recall is the organic infant and child tea from Sidroga with the lot number 5G0282, as the German pharmacist newspaper reports. During controls so-called Pyrrolizidinalkaloiden have been found that can damage the liver.

The affected tea is sold only in pharmacies. Accordingly, pharmacies were asked to destroy the stock of the tea concerned. Customers can contact their pharmacy.

Pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PA) are found in many plants that protect against predators. Plant parts with too high PA value are usually sorted out during tea production.

RECALL: Herbal tea contaminated with salmonella (April 2024).
