Hand peeling: The 3 best DIY recipes

Well-groomed hands are the business card of every woman. But especially in the cold months, when temperatures drop, the skin quickly becomes brittle and cracked. As a manicure and creaming alone is often not enough. A hand peel removes dead skin scales and makes dry, rough hands in the blink of an eye supple again.

1. Hand peeling with sea salt and olive oil

Ingredients:



  • 5 tablespoons of sea salt
  • 5 tablespoons olive oil
  • A big bowl

That's how it's done:

  1. Mix sea salt and olive oil in a bowl until the mixture has a not too oily, but not too grainy consistency.
  2. Now rub your hands with the salt peeling and let it work for about ten minutes.
  3. Then wash with a pH neutral soap and lukewarm water.

Effect: A scrub with salt cleanses the skin and dissolves old skin cells. The olive oil strengthens the fingernails and prevents brittle fingernails. The salt also extracts additional moisture from the skin. Important: do not forget to apply creams!

2. Hand peeling with sugar and honey

Ingredients:

  • 4 tablespoons of sugar
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • A big bowl

That's how it's done:

  1. Mix the sugar with the honey until a granular consistency is obtained. Extra tip: If you like, you can enrich the hand peeling with avocado. The green fruit is rich in essential fatty acids and vitamins B and E and provides dry hands with extra moisture.
  2. Gently rub hands with the sugar-honey mixture for about ten minutes. If you like, you can leave the peeling under gloves.
  3. Finally, wash off the scrub with warm water.

Effect: The sugar is gentler on the skin compared to salt, does not rub too hard and reduces moisture. The honey also has an anti-inflammatory effect and smooths your hands.

3. Hand peeling with grains and yogurt

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon of yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon of cucumber juice
  • 2 tablespoons poppy seeds

That's how it's done:

  1. Mix the yoghurt, cucumber juice and poppy seeds together.
  2. Then rub your hands with the scrub.
  3. After ten minutes exposure wash hands under lukewarm water.

Effect: The lactic acid contained in the yoghurt clarifies, refreshes and soothes the skin. The Cucumber juice has a moisturizing effect and supports cell renewal.
