Gerhard Schröder: Former Chancellor Schröder goes off for ex-wife interview

Even a year after the divorce, Doris Schröder-Köpf (55) does not want to part with the last name of her ex-husband, Gerhard Schröder (75). In an interview with Die Zeit she claimed that the former Chancellor had asked her to remove the surname Schröder: "He maintains that only the current wife should bear his name." But that was "especially with a common name like Schröder, a completely absurd request," said the SPD politician.

But the old chancellor does not want to leave that statement alone. He told the news agency spot on news that "this claim can not be surpassed in absurdity." " Doris Schröder-Kopf was married to Gerhard Schröder for 21 years. The couple had adopted two children. The former model pair has been delivering a war of roses for a long time.
