Forget Yoga! This is the best sport to stay young

You do yoga, pilates and jogging? Super. You do not like it all so crazy? Good as well. We have a pretty interesting study showing that another sport is much younger. And best of all, you do not have to be a bit agile for that. You need at most a little ball feeling and fun running. The sport that promises eternal life (okay, that's a bit over the top!) Means tadaaaa: tennis.

Öder 80er Sport? Are you kidding me? Are you serious when you say that!

And whoever thinks of short skirts, elite club life, bleak 80s sports or Boris Becker, we have to argue the following argument: In a recent study, international scientists have now found out that people who play tennis are on average 9.7 years longer lived as others who did not do any sports. Badminton players lived 6.2 years longer, footballers a full five and runners 3.2 years, according to the results.

Team sport is the best

The moral of the story: Sport is healthy, team sports are much healthier. Swimming in the pool around the corner, jogging in the park, back exercises in the living room alone? that does not hurt everything, but does not bring as much as working together with others. The researchers at least, based on the results, assume that the social component of team sports played a crucial role in the heart health of all study participants. However, the scientists acknowledged that there was a connection between the general living conditions of tennis players and their many birthdays. After all, it could also be because people who liked to chase the ball with the bat, lived healthier overall, had the necessary change for extended holidays and a balanced diet.

Beer with friends? It's also sociable ...

Ultimately, that does not matter: one thing is clear? What's fun is generally good for us as well. Point. So if you prefer gymnastics on the yoga mat rather than knocking on felt balls, that's fine too. By the way, is the beer with the friends around the corner very sociable? and the social component should never be underestimated. Whether on the tennis court or next to it.
