Eco-Fashion: These fashion labels make a fair offer

Who made my clothes?

Let's face it, who knows exactly where the clothes we wear are made? It's not just the big chains that make it hard for us to understand where the clothes were made. Even with smaller shops, it can be quite complicated if you want to know more.

Slow fashion instead of fast fashion

However, thanks to the Slow Fashion movement and growing consumer interest, there are more and more labels that make sure that clothing is made in a fair and ecological way.

Just to name a few examples ...

1. Thoreau

The London based Thoreau brand was founded in 2016 and produces in the UK. The clothes are not disposable items that have served their purpose after one season. Rather, the label relies on parts that stay with us longer - and sometimes have real favorite piece potential.

3rd Jan 'n June

The Hamburg label Jan 'n June uses certified organic cotton, recycled polyester and polyamide as well as recycled cotton. The idea for a fair fashion label came from the glass of wine of the founders Anna Bronowski and Juliana Holtzheimer: "We asked ourselves how it can be that sustainable fashion can not be fashionable and affordable at the same time and to deal with the ecological impact of textiles is almost impossible to buy regularly. " In 2014 the label was launched and stands for straightforward and minimalist fashion.

4. Armedangels

The Armedangels brand has stood for fair organic fashion with social responsibility for around 10 years, making it one of the first German eco-labels ever to be dedicated to fair fashion. CEO Martin Höfeler comments on Armedangels: "It all started with a couple of T-shirts, we designed them together with musicians and supported sales charity projects, and at some point we thought it would be better not to donate, but already at to change and improve production. " The label from Cologne is characterized by timeless fashion that is not based on short-lived trends and should appeal to all friends of casual fashion with playful prints and simple cuts.

The Greentee brand emerged from the search for the perfect white T-shirt. In 2015, founder Darinka Radenkovic launched her label with the idea of designing timeless garments to accompany women in all circumstances: "It would be nice to make the shirt world with my greentees a little better, away from thoughtless mass consumption But please without pointing your finger, "explains Radenkovic.
