Dye hair at home - that's the way it works!

Hair dyeing - with washable tints

Red hair is fashionable in the lead: Oscar winner Tilda Swinton already has it. The trend tones move in all nuances of the fall foliage. In general, red makes the hair shine, but as an artificial pigment it has disappeared completely - washable tints of fresh (also dyed) red.

That's how it's done:

1. First wash the hair with a MILD SHAMPOO, gently squeeze out the water. The color pigments of the washable tint then deposit evenly on the hair and in the outer layer of the hair.

2. Apply the tint. Coloring pigments also dye skin and nails, therefore: Use GLOVES and, no matter if foam or cream gel tint, spread the color well with a GROBZINKEN COMB (eg from Sägemann) in the hair. You have opened two packs for the excessively long hair? TANNING TREATMENTS can be stored refrigerated for up to six weeks.

3. The artificial color pigments take 15 to 20 minutes to accumulate. Twist hair up for this time, get stuck and drink a cup of tea in peace. As a precaution, put a TOWEL ON THE SHOULDERS so that nothing drips on the clothes. The concentrated pigments in dark shades are often only out at high washing temperatures.

4. Finally, rinse the tint from the hair until no more color is washed out and the water is clear. DO NOT SHAMPOO. Even later on exfoliating shampoos and intensive treatments that are washed out, renounce - they would take too much color.

Permanently dark - with intensive tints and hair colors

Brunette, please! Either trendy dark shiny, as Katie Holmes wears it, or gold mid brown like Jennifer Lopez. Dark intense tints and colors make gray hair disappear - imperceptibly when the neck is retouched.

That's how it's done:

1. SHAKE! In the case of a permanent color change (even in the case of intensive tinting), the two components, which later turn to color, must first be MIXED together. Tip: From shoulder-length hair you need about two packs for optimal results. Prepare a coarse-toothed plastic comb and moisten the hair.

2. Whether intensive tint or color (see "Info: hair color"): Apply the color mixture with a COLORING PEN (in drugstores), usually it is enclosed with the packs. Parting hair with the comb, eg. B. first in the middle. Put on gloves, pick up the color cream with a brush and apply it along the crown of the neckline, spread out to the left and right for about five centimeters (do not forget the back of the head), then massage plenty of color cream into the lengths. Divide the next area, brush and work on it over the whole head quickly. Treat the fine strands around the face at the end.

3. If you only want to RETRIEVE the APPROACHES, proceed as in step 2. For harmonious transitions, however, do not spread a color residue with the comb in the lengths until the end of the exposure time (in the last 5 minutes). This applies to intensive tints as well as hair colors.

4. After working, scrub the hair, rinse and apply conditioner. Some manufacturers include larger tubes than extra after washing (eg in "Récital Préférence" by L'Oréal), or offer them separately (eg in "Viva" by Wella).

Info: hair colors Intensive tints are permanent hair colors in a weaker concentration (the packaging says "2"). They cheat off gray streaks and become paler after a few weeks. If the regrowing hair is noticeably brighter, you can see an approach here as well - which sounds nocturnal every four weeks. If you want to cover gray completely, you have to take the hair colors marked with a "3". This color is growing out; Recolor every six weeks.

Blonde highlights - with brighteners

Blond is always hip. Currently especially in light sand shades with subtle fine strands in Aschblond, like the German Calvin Klein model Toni Garrn. By the way, you do not have to be completely sunburned - with individual brightened strands around the face you can already achieve a blonde impression.

That's how it's done:

1. READY: a clock to keep track of time, a towel to protect your clothes, a second mirror for highlights at the back of your head. When you first get light highlights, first try a few slender around the face and in the pony, exactly where the hair is brightened by the sun in the summer. DO NOT WASH HAIR BEFORE, just moisten slightly. Then mix the Blondier mixture.

2. Mostly a BRUSH is also included in the package of highlight sets. Take Blondierpaste and cover strand by strand abundant: leave the APPLE about one centimeter free, the result is more natural and the scalp is spared. If the hair is shoulder-length, first brush the strands FROM CENTER TO TIP, then the upper part of the strand. Body heat enhances the whitening effect.

3. For the back of the head, work with the second mirror (or ask a friend). If the bleaching paste is rather moist (different from different manufacturers), you can also place the strands between narrow ALUFOLIE STRIPES and turn the sides of the film together - so that underneath hairs are not bleached irregularly.

4. The Blondier process takes about 30 minutes. The hair is first yellow-orange, then bright. This is normal. Rinse and wash the hair after the indicated exposure time and let it ONLY LEAVE A COURSE (about 5 minutes). Rinse again, done!

Info: highlights When dyeing highlights, the natural color pigments are dissolved out of the hair with the help of hydrogen peroxide and usually a brightener (persulphate): first the dark, then the reddish-yellow pigments. Restraint attempts should be made at the earliest after six weeks. The hair is very sensitive by bleaching. Just brighten up the regrowth and then let the paste drain in the streak.

Color shimmer - with conditioner and cure

Gray is booming: fashion designer Ann Demeulemeester recently sent young models with silvery hair down the catwalk, actresses like Helen Mirren wear their gray as a trademark. Well-groomed shine brings conditioner and cures with pigments. They also neutralize false colors.

That's how it's done:

1.Wash hair. Best with a MILD SHAMPOO, which does not bring too many care substances (eg silicones) on the hair, so that the light pigments of the color cure can then work well.

2.Press the water out of the hair, first with your hands. Then the towel is used, just to lay around the head and express the hair STRONG. This is the gentle alternative to dry scrubbing.

3.Depending on the hair length, massage a walnut-sized amount of the color treatment (eg "Vital Silver Gloss" by Guhl for gray hair) into the hair. First into the LONG, then to the approach. Then it goes for the hair in the heat, which lets paint particles more intense dock on the hair: Let the cure act under a shower cap, beat also a towel like a turban around it. Leave for about 2 to 5 minutes.

4.Simply rinse! Due to the fine pigments in the products, the hair is given a beautiful EDLEN SCHIMMER. For a constantly beautiful glow repeat the cure weekly.

Info: color care Color conditioners and cures behave like washable tints - only much easier. The pigments do not change the hair color, but instead make an existing tone richer (eg "Laminates Cellophanes" by Sebastian / Barber) or correct wrong tones. For example, blue pigments neutralize a yellowish tint, while red pigments (eg "Color-glow" conditioners from Goldwell / Barber) give a greenish tinge. Not only in gray, but also in blond.

You ask, we answer!

Can pregnant women dye? How do natural hair colors work? The most important thing shortly on the subject of color.

What can I do myself, when should I go to the hairdresser?

Everything we have presented you can try on your own. If you are unsure or if the new color turns out differently than you had hoped, you can call the expert teams of manufacturers (see the packaging). However, you should always go to the hairdresser if you want a relatively dark initial hair color in the direction of blond or a very light color on black - these dyeing processes can lead to a lack of color. By the way, barbers discount certain color jumps, trust it!

What can I do myself, when should I go to the hairdresser? How do plant hair colors work?

The pigments of natural hair colors settle very permanently in the outer layer of the hair for weeks (eg from Logona, Santé). The longer the color acts and the more you use it, the more intense (darker) the sound becomes. Brightening is therefore not possible unless hydrogen peroxide is declared on the packaging (eg at Annemarie Börlind). Henna colors also look like a permanent coloration. Those who use them for red or dark brown dyeing should resort to certified products (eg pay attention to the seal "Controlled Natural Cosmetics" of the BDIH). And in general: Henna Red can not be over-dyed or only with a bad result - the hair becomes piebald.

How do so-called Re-Nature hair colors work?

These products act like a color: special color precursors are introduced into the hair, which then react with the oxygen in the air - new color pigments are formed (eg in "Poly Re-Nature" by Schwarzkopf). This color should correspond to the original hair color, sometimes it gets a little darker, because in the non-graying hair are still natural color pigments. For a regular result the hair should be clearly gray (at least 50% gray). The palette ranges from black to dark brown to medium brown to medium blond - tones that can be derived from a brown, but no red or red-blonde.

How do I find the perfect sound?

Move in your natural spectrum and proceed in two steps. 1 .: Look at your hair. Are there any missing gold shares? Then you stay in a rich, but relatively cool color family, these are tones like middle blond or medium brown. 2 .: Look at your skin. For women with a rosé touch in a light complexion, cool nuances look more harmonious. Golden nuances (also in shades of brown, such as "hazelnut") are women with olive-colored, slightly yellowish complexion. For example, the hair colors (Group 3) of the "Préférence Couleur de Star" color series of L'Oréal Paris; they go into exactly this interplay of hair color and skin tone.

I am pregnant - may I dye?

Permanent hair colors are always in the criticism. Hair experts like Dr. Gerhard Nohynek, scientific director of toxicology at L'Oréal International and lecturer at the University of Brussels, says wrongly. After all, all hair colors across the EU are tested for possible teratogenic effects, in concentrations that are a thousand times higher than those for home use. If you want to play it safe, take pure bleaching and intensive whitening, they contain no dyes. As a pregnant woman you should not stain if you are prone to (contact) allergies or are tattooed over a large area. In the case of a reaction, antihistamines and cortisone-containing creams can be questionable.

How do I best care for my colored hair?

With mild shampoos, so that not too many color pigments dissolve during washing; In the meantime there are even gentle dandruff shampoos (eg "Anti-Dandruff Shampoo Color Care" by Head & Shoulders). In addition: easy care series. The outer layer of the hair is then beautifully smooth, and it shines. Series of colored hairs are used by all major manufacturers (eg Douglas, Dove, Elvital, Garnier Fructis, Gliss Kur, Guhl, John Frieda, Lavera, Kérastase, Nivea, Pantene Pro-V, Schwarzkopf Professional, Wella ).
