City or Country: Where do children live best?

Out into the country! Yes or no?

For the first time in Germany, more families are moving from the big city to the countryside than vice versa. Among other things, because the housing prices for families are priceless. In the metropolises, condominiums for families should now be subsidized, according to plans of the Federal Government.

But does that really keep families from getting away from the city? Silke and Karsten live with their children Miro and Ida am A ?. the heath, or Ostfrieslands. It was a huge leap from Berlin. Why they now have less stress than in the city, they explain in the video interview:

You can see the whole interview with Silke and Karsten on family-unplugged.de.

About Silke and Karsten:

Silke and Karsten have been a couple for 24 years and so far they have been thinking and trying out all decisions for a long time: pulling together, marrying, changing jobs. But the move to the country was a leap into the cold water: Silke and Karsten "handed it" in the city and on the fourth floor, they chose the full contrast program? and moved to Ostfriesland village.

The village also has disadvantages:

Today, they admit that being part of an old-established village community was not easy and, last but not least, that the child-care infrastructure in Berlin is obviously much better. In Ostfriesland, everything is designed so that the mothers only work until 12 o'clock and eat the children at home. In concrete terms, this means that there are almost no kindergartens throughout. Although Silke has found another solution, but not without incurring constant allegations of Ida, because "all other children are allowed to go home at noon?"
