Cillian Murphy: The bookmaker acts as James Bond candidate

The puzzle continues: who will succeed Daniel Craig (51) and soon chase after the bad guys as James Bond on the screen? As one of the co-favorites on the coveted agent job is now trading a new name according to the "Irish Post": "Peaky Blinders" star Cillian Murphy (42).

After his fifth appearance as a 007 agent, Daniel Craig will finally say goodbye to the role and make room for a new lead actor. From April 8, 2020, he will be seen in his last Bond movie. Anyone who is allowed to throw himself into the famous agent suit in a subsequent production is still a big secret.

The list is growing steadily: In addition to Idris Elba (46), Tom Hardy (41), Richard Madden (32) and Tom Hiddleston (38) Cillian Murphy has now been brought into play. The reason for this is Murphy's falling odds at the bookmaker "Betway". With that the actor jumps in third place of the top favorites behind Richard Madden and Tom Hiddleston.

A successor is excluded

Cillian Murphy plays since 2013 the relentless Gang leader Tommy Shelby, who implicated the Peaky Blinders in shady shops in their home Birmingham. The fifth season of the BBC drama series is expected in spring 2019.

Fans are waiting to see who will win the race in the end. Film producer Barbara Broccoli (58) has excluded at least one thing in the past year: Craig's successor will not be a successor.
