Chris Evans: Does Captain America really have to die?
Chris Evans' (37) farewell tweet after filming "Avengers 4" has apparently confused many fans - raising the question: is Captain America dying in the new Marvel movie? A few days later, the actor has now tried to smooth the waves. His social media post was not an indication that Captain America would be killed, said the 37-year-old at a gig.
"I should make it clear that I know that I've tweeted something that many people think is somehow a spoiler," cites, among others, "cinemablend.com" Evans, who attended the weekend at the Ace Comic Con in Chicago Guest was. "I should clarify that regardless of how Avengers 4 ends, I would have tweeted exactly the same thing," the Hollywood star is said to have explained there. "This last day of shooting was a very emotional day and it was the culmination of nearly ten years of shooting and 22 films, this incredible performance."
There were many more emotions than he thought, Evans continued. And he felt it was appropriate to share his gratitude, he said about his tweet. "I know it had a big impact, but I do not confirm or deny it," he added.
There is no going back for Evans
Evans had triggered the speculation about Captain America on October 4 with a tweet declaring that he had completed the shooting of "Avengers 4" and ended his eight-year career as Captain America. "It was an emotional day, to say the least," wrote the actor. "Playing this role for the past eight years has been an honor, to everyone in front of the camera, behind the camera and in the audience, thanks for the memories, I'm eternally grateful."
The 37-year-old has already stated that he has no plans to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe after shooting "Avengers 4". "They want to get off the train before they kick you out," he told The New York Times in March. Evans made his debut as Steve Rogers in "Captain America: The First Avenger" (2011). What happens to the character in "Avengers 4" is not yet known. The film will be released in the spring of 2019.
