China denies Katy Perry entry? because of this outfit

Too sexy, too unsexy, too mainstream, too provocative? In the countless discussions about outfits of stars, we have heard all this. Katy Perry has evidently managed to climb into a previously unrecognized fad: in 2015, she was dressed too flowery in a performance in Taiwan, more specifically, too sunflower.

But always in order!

I'm so bummed I won't be able to make it to China this year. Love my VS family, and want to be with all my girls in spirit !! Can not wait to tune in with everyone to see the beautiful show I know it will be, and already can not wait for next year! x

After some models - including Gigi Hadid - had to cancel today's Victoria's Secret Show in Shanghai from their to-do list for visa problems, the originally planned appearance of Katy Perry falls flat. As pagesix.com reported last week, the singer was denied entry because she was wearing the wrong dress at a performance in the Taiwanese capital of Taipei in 2015: it was decorated with sunflowers.

Presumably because of this dress that Katy Perry wore in 2015 during a gig in Taiwan, she is not allowed to enter China until further notice.

Does China have a problem with sunflowers?

Not directly. But with Taiwan, the People's Republic of China has a problem. For the island state sees itself as independent, while mainland China considers it rather as a "breakaway province" and actually wants to co-govern.

The sunflower is now the very symbol of Taiwan's anti-Chinese movement, Therefore, the Chinese government in Beijing is somewhat allergic to the yellow daisy family. Speaking of flag: Katy Perry has swung at her appearance in 2015 also equal - so the Taiwanese.

Katy Perry is in good company

Whether Katy Perry wanted to make a political mark with her appearance in Taiwan is questionable, and perhaps other reasons played a role in the failure of her visa application. The only thing that is certain is that China will not allow anyone to enter Germany lightly.

"For all artists who want to perform in China, employees go through social media channels and press coverage and see if they've done something that could have turned against the country," pagesix.com quotes a source. For example, Maroon 5 was denied entry two years ago, congratulating the Dalai Lama on Twitter for his birthday.

Besides Katy Perry and Gigi Hadid, the models of models Julia Belyakova, Kate Grigorieva and Irina Sharapova also failed to get a visa. On the other hand, according to Chinese criteria, a white vest obviously has Harry Styles. The former one-directional singer is now performing on the Victoria's Secrets Show instead of Katy Perry.
