Body Positivity: Anna paints normal women

We are constantly comparing ourselves to the surreal ideal of beauty propagated by the media or social media. The flood of perfect models sometimes even makes us forget what ordinary women look like. All the better that there are women like the Berlin artist Anna Emilia Keller (19), who hold a mirror for us - and show: This is how women look with all their rough edges.

The budding art student from Berlin suffered as a teenager under eating disorders. As she talks to "bento" she tried her first diet when she was eight years old, later she slipped into bulimia. Only after three years and several hospital stays she has freed herself from the vicious circle. Today, the 19-year-old paints real women with strong thighs, hanging breasts or wide hips.

The pictures can be seen as part of the "Soft Within" exhibition in Berlin and on her Instagram account. In addition to the topic of self-love (body positivity) Anna deals with the issues of equal rights and mental health. We find: Anna shows us refreshingly honest, why we should love our body with all its "flaws".
