Bankruptcy: Popular shopping chain must close 19 branches!

The news of the "Butler's" bankruptcy came like a thunderbolt at the beginning of the year: the popular chain is in trouble. At that time it was not yet clear whether stores had to be closed - now it is clear: 19 stores are closing, 73 stores are to be continued first.

Unfortunately, that means that many employees will lose their jobs: a total of 130 of the approximately 1,000 jobs will be canceled. The goal of "Butler's": The chain wants to shrink first healthy and grow again with a new, higher-quality concept, as reported, among others, the "Kölner Stadtanzeiger".

The following Butler's stores will close in the middle of the year:

  • Baden-Württemberg: Heilbronn, Ulm Blue Valley Center
  • Bavaria: Erlangen, Memmingen, Munich Sendlinger Tor Platz
  • Berlin: Mall of Berlin, Q250, Uhlandstrasse (closed April 30, 2017), Wilmersdorfer Arcaden
  • Hamburg: Ganges Market Passage, Bahrenfelder Str., Elbe Shopping Center, Great Burstah;
  • Lower Saxony: Stade
  • North Rhine-Westphalia: Dortmund Thier Gallery, Minden
  • Rhineland-Palatinate: Koblenz, Trier Gallery
  • Schleswig-Holstein: Flensburg
