Ashley Judd: Actress sued former movie mogul

Ashley Judd (50, "double murder") filed suit against Harvey Weinstein (66) on Monday, as the actress herself says on Twitter. The former film mogul had blacklisted her and spread lies about her in order to harm her career after she dismissed Weinstein's sexual advances, as the complaint says.

Peter Jackson as a witness

Such allegations are usually difficult to prove, but star director Peter Jackson (56) is on Judd's side. As early as December, Jackson had stated that he had avoided Judd as an actress because he had been given false information by Weinstein. Until then, Judd had not known "that something invisible had prevented her from getting the job she wanted." And that for decades, as it says in the lawsuit. Judd was said to have played a prominent role in Jackson's "Lord of the Rings", but the film producer warned Jackson that Judd was "a nightmare" and that he should avoid working with her.

Last fall, Judd was one of the first women to talk about sexual harassment by Weinstein, and along with others, started the #MeToo debate. The actress insists with her lawsuit on a financial compensation she wants to send to Time's Up. The organization opposes sexual harassment and inequality in the workplace and supports affected women.
