Aquaman: horror offshoot planned for the action blockbuster!

The first solo adventure of "Aquaman" is a veritable blockbuster: By mid-January, the action blockbuster had already flushed over a billion dollars (equivalent to more than 880 million euros) into the coffers of the makers. So it's clear that the comic house DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. are already thinking about new formats around the superhero, played by Jason Momoa (39, "Game of Thrones").

This is already known about the new project

Although there are still no serious discussions about a successor between studio, director James Wan (41, "Saw") and Momoa, they are currently planning a spin-off to "Aquaman". This reports the industry magazine "The Hollywood Reporter". Warner hired writers Noah Gardner and Aidan Fitzgerald to write a script for a horror offshoot.

Peter Safran (53) and Wan are said to be on board as producers for the project, currently named "The Trench" - named after monsters from the first film. But the budget for the production is much lower than for "Aquaman". Unfortunately, it should already be established that the main cast from the hit should not appear in "The Trench". So if anything, there will only be a short cameo from Momoa. Further details are not yet known about the project.
