Angela Winkler: "I would like to be a femme fatale"

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde-woman.de: They have only given a few interviews so far and have never done a fashion shoot.

Angela Winkler: I also wanted to cancel this time again.

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde-woman.de: But you do not have.

Angela Winkler: No. I was in high spirits and the voice on the phone sounded nice. And then ? my favorite director Klaus Michael Grüber died. You know, Angela, I thought, he was going to smash one up there if he saw you in those chic "ladies' clothes". I'll be 65 next year and I'm so damn curious about new things. So I said to myself: Go! Have fun!

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde-woman.de: Is this 65 an important number for you?

Angela Winkler: No. But I'm still amazed that I should really get a pension. There are now constantly these notices, constantly I have to sign something. It is also interesting that suddenly many younger directors want to work with me. I think they appreciate my curiosity.

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde-woman.de: Has your appearance, your taste changed over the years?

There must be something wild.

Angela Winkler: Actually, I always dressed the way I am dressed today: simple, colorful. I like to mix black with something colorful. There must be something wild.

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde-woman.de: Do you have a favorite color?

Angela Winkler: Red. And blue. Black. And white and green ...

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde-woman.de: And Lila? Is currently very fashionable.

Angela Winkler: Lila is actually a color for older women. I never really liked her. Also remembers Waldorf School. But it radiates a depth, a drama, something lived. Especially in this wilderness here. Auvergne is an aubergine country for me. When the evening comes and the light sweeps over the hills, everything is shrouded in eggplant. Do not you think so?

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde-woman.de: Yes, a very soft, warm light.

Angela Winkler: For me, the Auvergne is a childhood country. Here are all the flowers that I know from childhood: columbine, flowers, willowherb ...

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde-woman.de: But you will not spend the next years here, but in Brittany.

Angela Winkler: I love the Auvergne very much, here I come to rest wonderfully. Here I learned the "Hamlet" by heart. But I also love the sea. It is always on the move. Go and come again, take away and give ... And after the storms the silence. I need this freedom of nature for my work.

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde-woman.de: How much do you need clothes, costumes to slip into other roles?

Angela Winkler: You are very important. I almost always chose my costumes myself. Directors like Peter Zadek or Klaus Michael Grüber have supported this. So I picked up my stage outfit for example at H & M, I often cut off my sleeves or crocheted my sleeves. Only then was it really mine.

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde-woman.de: And when you put on something that you can not have a say in?

The roles always fit my attitude to life.

Angela Winkler: When I play the Jenny from the "Threepenny Opera" in the production of Bob Wilson, I have to stand on incredibly high Prada shoes, on which I can walk only very shaky. I think that's great. I can use the shoes to make the figure even better. The Jenny is so torn, she can barely hold on: just do not stumble. Just do not admit that she's feeling dirty. Stay the queen of the road.

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde-woman.de: Is there a role you really want to play?

Angela Winkler: So far it has always been that the roles came to me. And they always fit exactly to my attitude to life. I ask myself more: What else can I play at my age? The Arcadina in the "Seagull" of Chekhov, maybe. Or the Medea. Or...

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde-woman.de: And what role does fashion currently play in your life?

Angela Winkler: Not a big one ... Above all, I do not want to look "fashionable", but as if I had made my own fashion. I know what I feel. I know my body.

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde-woman.de: Are you interested in fashion at all?

Angela Winkler: I do not read fashion magazines. But sometimes I'm standing in front of shop windows, watching what's going on, and when these women run past, looking like mannequins, I'm quite fascinated. That's like theater.

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde-woman.de: Which piece do you prefer to watch in the fashion theater?

Angela Winkler: I like these classic costumes, like Lauren Bacall wore them or Ingrid Bergman in "Casablanca".Sometimes I wish I was such a femme fatale, so unapproachable.

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde-woman.de: Do you think that clothes can change a person?

Angela Winkler: It is said: clothes make people. I like this fairytale by Andersen. But I do not think I just need clothes to make me feel sexy or convince people. Just like I do not need a cell phone. The people who are really interested in me and want to talk to me, find me that way too.
