Alfred Biolek: "At my age, you can cook"

He has become thin. Slim and fragile. One sees Alfred Biolek (84) that he needs help. The granted him his Scottish adoptive son Scott Biolek-Ritchie (48). Six days a week he takes care of the former TV entertainer ("Boulevard Bio", "alfredissimo!"). "We both need our rest on Sundays."

In a double interview with the magazine "Bunte" father and son describe their everyday life. Alfred Biolek has recovered well from his heavy fall in 2010 and his severe skull injuries. "I'm fine, I do not have to take medication anymore, I'm just old."

"Father and son and best friends"

He has known Scott for 30 years. "Alfred adopted me in 2013. We got to know each other through his then partner Keith in London and we have been closely connected ever since," says the Scot. But they have never been lovers. "We're father and son and best friends, we've gotten used to each other over the years and we've gotten closer and closer, I can fully rely on Scott, I know it's not taken for granted in old age," says Biolek.

For the adoptive son, it is "perfectly clear that I have taken on a caring and nurturing role, and after his accident he was in a coma for a short time, having to learn to walk again". Alfred gave him "so many beautiful experiences in life". "Then it does not matter to run away and let him down when he's down, I have a chance to give him back everything he's done for me - I love that."

Biolek no longer cooks for himself

Every evening Scott cooks for Bio, who has not been around the stove for a long time. The most famous amateur cook in Germany, who wrote several cookbooks and the cookery show "alfredissimo!" does not even cook anymore. "Even my beloved white wine is now non-alcoholic.When I turned 80, I stopped both, I just do not have the strength to prepare everything, you have to do so much at the same time. "

This worries now Scott, "always to Alfred's recipes ... He has no favorite dish, but eats all the same, I ask him at noon, on what he wants in the evening Monty Python chicken or zucchini tuna with noodles? He decides then according to day shape ".

"The most important person in my life"

The two do not live together, everyone has their own apartment. Biolek adds, "Scott has his life, I have mine, and we have a life together." And his adoptive son says, "Alfred is the most important person in my life, my hubbub, the thought that one day he could not live makes me sad."
