A mother gets upset: "Stop saying, breastmilk is free!"

Is breastmilk really free, as it is so often said? This tweet by American history professor Kera Lovell highlights just how valuable Mother's work actually is. She writes:

Somebody just told me that she spent about 4866 hours of her life breastfeeding and that breast milk is free only if you do not value the time and bodies of women and their educational work.

Someone just told me she had spent about 4866 hours of her breastfeeding and breastmilk is only free if we think of women's time, bodies, and carwork as worthless.
