"A great pain": Fritz Wepper misses his deceased wife so much

Actor Fritz Wepper (77) surprisingly lost his longtime wife, Angela Wepper (1942-2019), at the beginning of the year. "I miss my wife very much. There will never be any more that everyday, normal, talking to each other, looking each other in the eye. That's a bitter realization, a very big painIn an interview with the magazine "Bunte", the Munich-based artist describes his current emotional state: Anyone who has lost a loved one knows what he is talking about, and he has been "several times" at her grave in Schlitz since the funeral.

What helps him in mourning?

In this difficult period of mourning Wepper helps nature, traveling and meditation, as he says. "Being in nature always helps me." By that he means among other things the "fly fishing on the Traun" with his brother, actor Elmar Wepper (74, "Cherry Blossoms & Demons"). "Being with my brother is really important to me and always very comforting."

He hopes the same for the planned trip to "deep-sea fishing", which he "for 20 years once a year" makes. This time it's off to Curacao in the Caribbean. Just now he was "one week in Florida, to calm down and hang on to my thoughts". Such trips now help him, he says. But also the meditation is very important for him. There are many options to find inner peace and serenity. "For me, it's fishing and Zen meditation," says Wepper.

Angela Wepper died on 11 January as a result of a stroke. She was 76 years old. Angela and Fritz Wepper were married since 1979 and have a daughter, actress Sophie Wepper (37). The actor also has another seven-year-old daughter. Next Tuesday, the new season of his hit series "For Heaven's sake" (the first) starts, the end of April, the shooting of the 19th season begins.
