Glückspilz pillow to make yourself
You need: approx. 50 cm x 100 cm cotton fleece in dark pink, approx. 20 g felt or fairy tale wool in fuchsia and natural white, approx. 10 g each in red and light green, approx. 2 g each in dark green, yellow and pink, washable seed beads in Pink, transparent and white, fine felting needle, foam pad for felting, 4 small buttons to sew on, pillow filling 35 x 35 cm, flower sequins mixed (by Gütermann)
How to do it: Wash the fleece fabric and after drying, cut to size 35 x 75 cm (including seam allowances). Then zigzag all edges of the pillow and fold in the fabric on each of the two short sides, pinning and sewing a 1 cm wide hem.
Now lay the prepared fleece fabric around a 35 x 35 cm piece of cardboard so that the two hemmed edges on the back side of the box overlap by approx. 4 cm at a height of approx. 10 cm. Fix the fabric on the cardboard with pins.
Now the lucky motive can be transferred. Either you draw the mushrooms after the picture, or you print out the template (click on the magnifying glass). Then glue the printout on a thin cardboard, cut out along the contours.
Place this template on the fleece and draw with the pen along the lines. The desired lettering in scripture slightly oblique. Slide the foam as a felt pad between fabric and cardboard. Apply the white wool for the large mushroom stem thickly within the contours and apply with the felt needle through repeated, evenly distributed stitches. Always pierce the felt needle vertically. In between, carefully remove the fleece from the pad again and again. Then pluck the fuchsia wool with a little red wool and make the mushroom hat. Now felt the white dots and the thin contour on the hat edge. In the same way, only thicker and more sculptural, work the little mushroom on the edge of the big mushroom stalk. Pin the meadow in light green and then work in some darker stalks. As felted flowers small beads in fuchsia, yellow and pink are stung with a different colored center of the flower with a few stitches with the felting needle. Last auffilzen the name train. Pull thin strands out of the wool, roll them between the fingers and then felt on the fleece with the needle. Now sew on floral sequins, each with a pearl as the center.
Release the fleece from the foam and cardboard, turn it to the left and stick it so that the overlapping closure on the back is restored later. Sew the pillow together and turn it over. Sew the four press studs into the flap and sew colorful flower sequins with pearls on the visible edge of the flap at a distance of 1 cm.
