We asked perfumer Sonia Constant and fashion designer narciso rodgriguez. Together they developed the new fragrance Pure Musc.

How does fragrance layering work?

The principle is actually quite simple: You combine two (or more) scents together, so that a quasi "new" fragrance is created. We are almost our own perfumers. "Pure Musc has been designed specifically for this," explains Sonia Constant. It is tuned to the other fragrances from the "for her" series. There are now many labels that match their fragrance components so that you can combine them. But that does not mean that we can not experiment as well. Just try what works well for you.

For example, have you had a favorite perfume for years that you would like to give something new again? Then Duftlayering is perfect. Generally, we advise you to use heavy fragrances (like Pure Musc) first and then add a light, fresh or sparkling fragrance. For example, these scent combos almost always work:

• floral notes to woody notes
• Woody notes of vanilla notes
• Woody notes of citrus scents

Sonia Constant says, "It's the perfume that causes emotions in you, it's what supports your type and does not change it." So it should be love at first sight. Very important: Always try a new scent on your own skin, because every scent smells different on each person.

The right order

Once we have found our favorite fragrance (the fragrances), of course we do not want it to be empty again immediately. Even if we would like to spray from top to bottom with it.
