Demi Lovato: Her mother breaks her silence

At the end of July, family, friends, the music world, celebrities and their fans around the world were concerned about the life of singer Demi Lovato (26, "Sorry Not Sorry"). The 26-year-old had to be taken to hospital for an overdose. Now her mother Dianna De La Garza (56) has broken her silence. In a TV interview, the 56-year-old told for the first time how she learned about her daughter's overdose and how the singer is doing today.

"I knew we were in trouble"

Dianna De La Garza explains in an interview with "Newsmax TV" that she still finds it difficult to talk about what happened that day. That something is wrong with her daughter, they have initially received via SMS. She had received several messages in which sentences like "I just heard the news", "I'm so sorry", "I pray for Demi". She was completely confused. A text message read: "I just read it on 'TMZ', please tell me it's not true!" Since her heart slipped in his pants.

Dianna De La Garza wanted to get to the bottom of the matter immediately, but before she could investigate on the net, Demis had called her then assistant. She immediately recognized by her voice that something terrible had happened. Finally, the assistant had told her: "Demi had an overdose!" Dianna De La Garza was "shocked". She had never expected such a thing to happen to one of her children. Only after a moment of hesitation did she dare to ask if her daughter was doing well.

The disturbing answer was, "She is conscious, but she is not talking." Demi's mother knew that "we were in trouble".

"She was in bad shape"

Together with Demis sisters, she immediately went to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. "She just did not look good," recalls Dianna De La Garza. "She was in bad shape". At the bedside she told her daughter that she was with her and she loved her. When Demi replied, "I love you too," she breathed inwardly and firmly believed that everything would be fine, even though that was not clear at first. "We did not know for two days whether she would succeed or not," the 56-year-old continues.

Demi Lovato had to stay in the hospital for a while. For her mother, in addition to the excellent medical care, the millions of prayers her fans have sent to heaven all over the world are one of the reasons why her daughter survived. How is the singer today?

That's how Demi works

Demi Lovato went directly to a detox clinic after her hospitalization. Since then she has not been seen in public. Her mother explains with relief: "I can honestly say today that she is really well, she is happy, she is healthy". The 26-year-old is working to stay clean and get the help she needs.
